Pocket Reminder Terms of Service

Effective and updated: October 10, 2026 · Version 2026-10-10

These terms describe the agreement between you and the provider of Pocket Reminder (“we” or “us”) concerning use of the Pocket Reminder iOS app (the “App”).

1. Acceptance

Choosing Sign in with Apple or Continue as guest means you have read and agreed to these terms and the Pocket Reminder Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the App. Users under fourteen should use the App with a guardian’s consent and guidance.

2. Services

The App helps you create, edit and manage reminders using voice or text and delivers alerts through iOS local notifications. On supported system versions, you can separately authorize system alarms. Home Screen widgets display reminders or quickly open input. You can use guest mode or Sign in with Apple and private iCloud synchronization. Features depend on the installed version.

3. Identity and data

Guest and Apple-identity data are kept separate:

  • The App stores guest data on the current device and does not synchronize it to CloudKit. iOS device backups depend on system settings and do not replace app synchronization. Data usually cannot be restored after uninstallation;
  • Reminders after Apple sign-in can be stored in private iCloud and synchronized between devices using the same Apple identity;
  • Guest reminders migrate to the current Apple identity only after your explicit confirmation;
  • Signing out does not delete reminders. Deleting reminders or using Delete account and all data may be irreversible.

Keep your device, Apple account and iCloud available and secure.

4. Reminder reliability and limitations

We reasonably maintain reminder parsing, scheduling and notifications. Delivery may still be affected by ambiguous input, a powered-off device, notification permissions, Focus modes, system restrictions, battery, network, time-zone changes or Apple service availability.

After creating a reminder, check its content, date, time and recurrence. Do not rely on the App as the sole safeguard for medical emergencies, personal safety, significant financial transactions or other high-risk matters.

5. Acceptable use

You are responsible for the content you enter and how you use the App. Do not use it to:

  • Store or process content violating applicable law;
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy or other lawful rights;
  • Disrupt the App or relevant systems and networks;
  • Conduct malicious reverse engineering, distribute malicious code or otherwise compromise security.

Do not put unnecessary sensitive information, including passwords or verification codes, in reminders or feedback emails.

6. Paid services

The App provides free features and optional Pocket Reminder Plus. Plus currently includes quiet hours, saving custom notification sounds and an app passcode lock; the lock also requires Sign in with Apple. Basic reminders, advance alerts, system alarms (subject to system support and permissions), automatic end dates, the system notification sound and Home Screen widgets do not require Plus. Custom sounds can be previewed for free; saving them for use requires Plus. Entitlements and prices are those shown on the purchase page and Apple confirmation screen. We do not promise features that have not been provided.

Plus offers monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through Apple In-App Purchase. Monthly and yearly plans renew for their respective periods. You can view, change or cancel a subscription through the App’s subscription-management entry or iOS Settings under Apple Account and Subscriptions. Effective dates, billing and expiry follow Apple’s confirmation. The lifetime option is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. Buying it does not automatically cancel an existing subscription. Manage that subscription separately to avoid overlapping charges.

Purchase entitlements belong to the App Store account that made the purchase, not to the App’s guest or Sign in with Apple identity. Both guest and Apple-signed-in users can purchase. Restore purchases verifies entitlements again when using the same purchasing account. Signing out of the App, deleting reminders or account data, or uninstalling does not automatically cancel subscriptions or issue refunds. Pending or unverified purchases do not unlock paid access.

Follow Apple’s process to manage or cancel subscriptions or request a refund. Apple determines eligibility under its applicable rules. Subscription expiry does not delete reminder data. Creating or changing paid settings requires entitlement verification again. This section does not limit your statutory consumer rights.

7. Intellectual property

The App’s software, interface, graphics, marks and related content are protected by applicable law. Except as permitted by law or separately authorized by us in writing, do not copy, sell, rent, maliciously reverse-engineer the App or use its content to create infringing products. You retain the rights you hold in the reminder content you enter.

8. Service changes and termination

We may update, adjust or discontinue features to improve the experience, security and system compatibility. Changes materially affecting users’ rights will be communicated reasonably, such as through in-app notices.

You may stop using the App, sign out or delete the current identity’s data in settings at any time.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided as is. For delayed or undelivered reminders or failed synchronization caused by system permissions, device or Apple service issues, force majeure, incorrect input or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we do not assume liability beyond that required by law. This does not exclude or limit your statutory consumer rights.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for feature changes, legal requirements or security needs. Changes materially affecting users’ rights will be communicated reasonably, such as through in-app notices. Continuing to use the updated service means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using the App and delete the relevant data.

11. Governing law and disputes

The formation, performance and interpretation of these terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes should first be addressed through friendly consultation. If consultation fails, proceedings may be brought before a people’s court with lawful jurisdiction.
